Sudan
I traveled to Khartoum, Sudan, to examine figurines in the Sudan National Museum and stayed at the Akropole Hotel, the BEST place to stay if you need to be in Khartoum. I was there in June, the hottest time of the year. Transportation by taxi in the city is expensive, and if you don't speak Sudanese Arabic it is hard to get around on the cheaper little buses, so I walked a lot in the excruciating heat. Sudan is beautiful, though. I would love to go back. The colors of the landscapes, buildings, and clothing are beautiful.

There are a lot of these. I think they just serve tea and maybe snacks.
